This series seems to serve as a form of recapitulation of the financial condition of the Branch Bank from 1851 Nov. 1 to 1853 Nov. 1. The first section of this volume consists of lists of collections made in each county of good, bad, or doubtful debts. Included after the lists of collections is a statement showing the amount of cash collected on each classification of debt as reported by Commissioner Francis S. Lyon in his semi-annual reports to the Governor. Also included is a balance sheet of current expenses, record of amount paid to commissioners after their collection on notes owed to the Branch Bank, a list of sales of real estate, a report of the financial condition of the Branch Bank, and a report by the commissioners to settle the affairs of the State Bank and its Branches. This series serves as a useful research tool in the study of the liquidation process of the State Bank and its Branches.
